The original video game in the Star Wars Jedi Knight series, Star Wars: Dark Forces, allows players to take on the role of Kyle Katarn, a member of the Rebel Alliance and pits him against the conspiracies of the Empire and its ever-growing army. It employs elements of first-person shooter and presents players with a variety of arms, ammunition and shields. Other items in the inventory allow players to navigate the dangers of various environments. The player can perform an array of movements to navigate moving platforms, conveyors and morphing surroundings.
