Destiny 2 is an online-only first-person shooter, multiplayer game developed by Bungie and published by Activision. It is a sequel to 2014’s Destiny and it’s various expansions. Players take on the role of a Guardian, protectors of the last safe city of Earth. Wielding a power called Light to protect the Last City from various invading alien races. One alien race the Cabal, is led by the warlord Dominus Ghaul. Dominus commands the Cabal to infiltrate the Last City and strips all Guardians of their Light. The player then sets out on an adventure to find a way to defeat Dominus Ghaul, his Red Legion army, regain their Light and save the Last City. Taking place in a mythic sci-fi environment, the game features a “shared world” multiplayer experience with role-playing game elements, such as live events.

PvE

Like in its predecessor, gameplay in Destiny 2 is sorted amongst player versus player (PvP) and player versus environment (PvE), in addition to normal story missions, PvE, features three player ‘strikes’ and six-player ‘raids’. A free roam patrol mode is also available for each planet and unlike the original features public events and all new activities. The original Destiny only featured Non-Playable Characters (NPC’s) in social spaces; whereas Destiny 2’s new activities have heavy emphasis on exploration of the planets and interactions with native NPC’s.

PvP

As mentioned above, Destiny 2 is split into two forms of gameplay, PvE and PvP. In PvP mode, explore features such as, objective-based modes, as well as traditional death match game modes. The original Destiny featured six-versus-six, three-versus-three and two-versus-two variants, unlike Destiny 2 which changes it up to make all PvP game modes four-versus-four matches. Staying the same course as the original, Destiny 2 features expansion packs such as Curse of Osiris and Warmind that only add new content, missions and overall story to your Destiny 2 experience.
